Category Archives: Other The Mykines is the most western island of Faroe Island. It is favorite tourist destination in summer time, because of its spectacular bird life. However few people visit in the winter. I am working partially for Environment Agency of Faroe Islands and we spent few days working on Mykines in December of 2009. Altso teir eru fittur  This was the first time I was at town attending the ceremony of ligthing the Christmas tree. And it was quite a show.Santa Claus came down from fire truck and turned on Christmas tree by a magical touch. The batteries on my camera went dead on that magical moment. Second night of Ólavsøka people meet in the centrum of Tórshavn at midnight to sing together and to dance faroese chain dance. Of course I was there to take some pictures. After the singing was finished, there were fireworks. by Martin no comments  Before I went to Florida, I went to visit to Slovakia for 1 week. While I was in Bratislava, I went visit a place called De Paul. My younger sister often spend her free time there helping to take care about homeless people.
